This professional bidirectional converter is the most compact on the market. It allows to process SDI sources to obtain HDMI signals or vice versa, even in different formats. In addition, it is compatible with the camera control protocol, thus providing the possibility of using Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera units with professional SDI mixers.

In this sense, it is enough to connect the SDI output of the converter to the corresponding input in the mixer, the main output of the converter to the input of the converter, and finally the HDMI input of the converter to the camera. By assigning a number to the unit using the utility program, it is possible to adjust the color, activate the pilot light, and start recording remotely. In turn, it also works in reverse, thus facilitating control of SDI cameras from HDMI mixers, such as the model Atem Mini.

The new Blackmagic Micro Converter 3G models are highly compact professional converters that allow you to connect SDI devices to HDMI devices. Thanks to its sturdy and miniature design, they can be used anywhere. They also have 3G SDI connections that facilitate the processing of any SD or HD format at a maximum resolution of 1080p60 and can be powered directly from a TV or computer through the USB-C port. It is even possible to purchase them without power supplies if they are not necessary. Only the models of the Micro Converter line have custom made electronic components that meet the requirements for global transmissions. The Micro Converter SDI to HDMI 3G model includes a three-dimensional conversion table (LUT) to control color with precision. This allows you to implement specific styles and make chromatic adjustments instantly to monitor the quality of the recorded material. In addition, it is possible to apply a LUT to the images transmitted through the derived SDI output, which provides the possibility of using the converter as a processor of three-dimensional conversion tables and use them to carry out a corrugated correlation with economical monitors. For its part, the tools for primary corrections from DaVinci Resolve make it easier to create fascinating styles that can be saved in custom 3D LUT, and since the program is free, it is very easy to start generating these tables with the purpose of monitoring the images or simulating the appearance of old tapes.

Since Micro Converter 3G models include components designed by Blackmagic Design, they are more advanced and provide fundamental professional features for high-end work dynamics, such as support for SDI and HDMI timecodes, both in standard definition and in high definition.
